CRISTIANISMO Y JUSTÍCIA

Cristianismo y Justicia is a Centre of Studies set up by the Society of Jesus in Catalonia. It was created in 1981, with the aim of offering a practical response to Vatican II, through the 32nd General Congregation of Jesuits, which gave its members the principal task of "the service of faith and the promotion of justice".

It brings together an interdisciplinary group of both seculars and Jesuits trained by over 70 professors of Theology and Social Sciences, as well as other professionals and experts in social sciences.

Its objectives are as follows:

  1. Reflecting on faith from the perspective of justice.
  2. Being a part of the social dynamic with the aim of working towards a more humane world, through interdisciplinary dialogue and through the analysis of how faith should function within this social dynamic.
  3. Forming a critical dialogue with modern culture from the clear standpoint of supporting the cause of the poor.

The work is mainly carried out at two levels:

  • research, interdisciplinary reflection and in-house seminars.
  • spreading the message through courses, round table discussions, conferences, the publication of books and booklets, and the website
